Join us at a Beach Potluck to Celebrate our Precious Sangha and welcome Geshe Tenzin Legtsok to the Bay Area community!
When: Sunday, June 8th, 2025 3:00pm-6:00pm
Where: Seabright Beach, Santa Cruz
We’re excited to invite the Bay Area community to a special event celebrating the monastics who so generously serve our local FPMT centers. On Sunday, June 8th from 3:00–6:00 PM, we’ll be gathering at Seabright Beach in Santa Cruz for a joyful Beach Potluck in Honor of our Sangha and to celebrate the arrival of Geshe Tenzin Legtsok to our community. This is a heartfelt opportunity to show our appreciation for the monastics who dedicate their lives to preserving and sharing the Dharma.
Come enjoy a relaxed afternoon of sunshine, community, and delicious food by the sea. Whether you bring a dish to share or simply your presence and gratitude, we welcome you to join us in creating a warm, joyful space to honor those who guide us on the path.
Families, friends, and sangha supporters of all ages are most welcome.
You are invited to:
- Bring food or drink to share if possible and a serving utensil if needed for the dish and please add what you are bringing to the potluck list below.
- Bring a beach chair and/or towel to sit on.
- Bring sun protection, a hat, sunblock, and water to stay hydrated. Also bring layers as the beach can get windy and /or change temperatures quickly
- Parking is limited so please add yourself to the carpool list to offer or take a ride.
- Please sign up to the Potluck List if you are attending, even if you aren’t bringing a dish so we can get an idea of headcount.

Geshe Tenzin Legtsok has been ordained as a Buddhist monk since 2001 and is the first American to complete the twenty-year Geshe Studies Program in classic Indian Buddhist treatises and their Tibetan commentaries at Sera Jey Monastic University in South India, following the tradition of ancient Nalanda University. In 2025, he completed the traditional study of tantra at Gyumed Tantric Monastery. With over two decades of study and practice under the guidance of great masters, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Geshe Legtsok brings profound insights into the application of Buddhist teachings.
