14 Mar Our COVID-19 Update
Hello dearest community,
In these uncertain times, our team, like so many communities worldwide, has had an opportunity to reflect on the interdependence of all beings. Recent events are inviting us to practice great mindfulness and caring, knowing that the ripples of our actions extend to all people, near and far. Therefore, like many organizations, we are doing our best to take precautionary steps to keep our community safe and healthy, which is of utmost importance to us.
While monitoring conditions and recommendations closely over the last few weeks and implementing safety and precautionary measures here, we have been in touch directly with those scheduled to participate in our group retreats and those external organisations renting our facilities for retreats. Now we want to also give our wider community an update on how things are unfolding here and what we are doing in response to the increasing concerns and spread of the COVID-19 virus.
At this time, all scheduled group retreats and facility rentals have been canceled at Vajrapani Institute until April 29, 2020.
We are informed and doing our very best to keep this sacred place and those who work here healthy.
We are also doing prayers and practices here for the safety and well-being of the extended Vajrapani Institute community of practitioners, as well as for all beings everywhere, and in particular for the exhaustion of the virus. We encourage students to follow Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s advice and updates for safeguarding against the virus.
If you are choosing to stay home to avoid any potential risks, perhaps a home retreat is a good way to pass the time! Please feel free to reach out if you would like some help with structuring this, we would be happy to provide you with materials and practices as we are able, or at least help point you in the right direction!
Please take good care of yourselves and one another. This is a great opportunity to practice loving kindness and in particular to offer emotional and practical support to the more vulnerable members of our community. Together, we can make all the difference in the world!
Big Love and Sincere Prayers,
The Vajrapani Institute Team
