Retreat Overview

The practice of purification is one of the most important solutions to life’s problems.”—Lama Zopa Rinpoche

What is it?

A great way to ring in the New Year!  This purification retreat will be based on the Tibetan Buddhist deity practice of Vajrasattva.  This practice contains within it all the techniques for reversing mistaken attitudes and cultivating beneficial states of mind by purifying obstacles to spiritual development, negative karma and illness.  Some previous study of Tibetan Buddhism will be helpful for attending this retreat.

Purifying the negative and self-destructive habits of the mind allows space for positive experiences and beneficial states of mind to flourish in your life.

“The ultimate purpose of engaging in purification practices, such as Vajrasattva, is the same as with all Mahayana practices: to bring the practitioner closer to the attainment of full enlightenment. Enlightenment is possible because our mind is capable of limitless perfectibility; there is nothing within the nature of the mind to prevent us from achieving such spiritual perfection. In other words, at the fundamental level of our being, we all possess buddha nature.” -Jon Landaw
