Minimum Stay

Groups must stay a minimum of 2 nights. There is no maximum.

Group Size

Vajrapani is best suited for groups of up to 45 people in the wet season, or 70 people in the dry season. The wet season generally runs from November to April.

We ask that your group meet these size minimums to rent our facilities:

  • For 2 night rentals: 18 participants

  • For 3 nights or more: 15 participants

Negotiation is welcome. Please speak with our Facility Rental Manager if your group is close to meeting these requirements.

Who Practices at Vajrapani

We prefer groups with a subdued and reverent tone because of the ongoing silent retreaters renting our private cabins and our community practice of mindfulness and quietude. The stillness of our forest has a special quality best experienced from a quieter frame of mind.

Please ask if you aren’t sure whether your group would fit into this atmosphere.

We’ve regularly hosted groups of students of:

  • Zen and Chan

  • Vipassana or Insight

  • Kriya Yoga

  • Non-Dual Wisdom

  • Hatha Yoga

  • Holistic Therapy Trainings

  • Shamanic Seminaries

We love to host all kinds of groups from a wide variety of spiritual traditions. Buddhist and non-Buddhist groups alike are welcome to enjoy the blessings of Vajrapani.

Truly, we are always so grateful to you for so generously sharing your sacred space with us. It is sacred to us, too.” – Misha (Zen Teacher)

Vajrapani’s Needs

We want you to feel like Vajrapani is your home. While your group is here, our staff will move discreetly into the background so you can have the space to yourselves. However, we do ask that you:

  • Leave the center in the same condition as you found it, so that others may also enjoy it.

  •  Abide by our Rules and Guidelines at all times.

In addition to helping us maintain our still and sacred atmosphere, we also need to ask for your assistance with the domestic realities of hosting a larger group. Because our staff is small, we are not able to do everything without your help.

Your group will be asked to participate in “Working Meditation” jobs to fill in the gaps including:

  • Washing dishes and pots

  • Taking out the trash

  • Keeping the floors tidy

A full list of Working Meditation jobs are provided on the Resources page of the Preparing for your Facility Rental section.

Vajrapani is here for your group. We have no other purpose than supporting those on the spiritual path, and it’s what we do best.
