What is a private retreat?
Is it okay to just relax or would I have to meditate?
Am I ready for a private meditation retreat?

Self-Cultivation

self cultivation through private retreat

Private Retreat is a solitary practice where one creates a focused environment for achieving personal, psychological, or creative goals.

It offers an unrivaled excellent opportunity to come face-to-face with our own minds. We can examine our inner landscape, learning to subdue and transform the habitual, negative patterns of body, speech and mind that cause suffering.

Private retreat offers some unique advantages:

  • Practice according to your own schedule and pace
  • Focus on the topic or practice of your choice
  • Extremely private and intimate

Personal Retreat can be an advanced practice. Within the isolation and focus that a personal retreat creates, we manifest an intense energy that can be used to radically change our perceptions and lives forever.

Taking a Break

People who don't have a structured or religious spiritual practice can also enjoy the solitary, silent retreat environment.

Private Retreat can also be used to:

  • breathe deep and relax
  • develop creative pursuits, such as writing
  • take long hikes and simply decompress

In today’s busy and stressful world, sometimes just stopping and relaxing itself can be a profound and necessary medicine.

Retreat doesn’t have to be about spiritual goals.  Taking care of ourselves is a great reason to do a retreat.

Never done a Private Retreat before?

Interested in a private retreat but not sure if you are ready?

You’re not the only one. As mentioned above, personal retreat can be an advanced practice.

It's highly recommended that we experience a group retreat under the guidance of an experienced teacher before attempting a personal retreat on our own. However, when we have confidence in our own abilities and clear guidance from our teachers, a private retreat is the only way to take our practice to its depths.

A group retreat is an excellent way to gain confidence, increase our skill and receive guidance so that our first personal retreat will be easy and beneficial.

You are the judge of whether or not you are ready for a private retreat. But, if you aren’t sure, ask us. We can help you find a teacher you can discuss your concerns with.
